Flora of New Zealand

Given many of us are deep in winter and hunkered down at home in self-isolation during the Covid 19 pandemic, I thought you might like a little colorful taste of summer, that is New Zealand’s summer. Most of these were taken at the Christchurch Botanical Center which we visited day one of our trip. Some however were taken in the wild, noted accordingly. No story here, just a vivid splash of color to warm up your winter!

Orange sunburst Rose
Big gorgeous Hydrangeas grew naturally all over New Zealand, here’s some deep purple ones we caught “in the wild”.
Ornamental Peppers
Peach Begonias
Foxglove also grew naturally all over New Zealand, this one I caught near the Tasman Glacier
The botanical center was also full of all shades of blue Hydrangeas
Peach Rose
Name that purple flower! Hint, this one was in the wild.
Bromeliad bloom
We had to stop at this Lavender field on our drive up to Mt. Cook. So purple!

Did the chair just happened to be sitting in the field of lavender, waiting for Suzie to use it? Or did you drag it there, and where did you find the chair?

Thanks for the nice spread of rainbow colors.
